MARTINSBURG – Spring Mills wasn't going to let another game slip away from them, beating the visiting Cougars 52-22.
Keon Padmore-Johnson did what he does best, passing deep the entire game, first finding Rohan Parchment midway through the first quarter. The quick-footed sophomore would also have big punt returns, albeit his only return touchdown was called back due to a penalty.
Corbin Pierson would come out in the second half hungry, throwing to Antoine Lewis for a 50-yard touchdown in the first drive. Yet, much like Padmore-Johnson and his receivers do, Mason Williams went deep for a 77-yard touchdown immediately after.
Pierson would keep the ball in the air, but after throwing multiple interceptions, Padmore-Johnson would deliver the dagger connecting with Christian Henderson for a 90-yard touchdown.
Jefferson is now looking to break their seven game losing streak against the Loudoun Valley (Va.) Vikings (0-7). Both teams will be fighting for something this Friday, and it's shaping up to be one of the most important games of the Cougars' season.
