Jefferson’s girls soccer team picked up a 2-1 win over Hampshire at home last Thursday, but had to settle for a 1-1 tie at Washington last Tuesday.

The Cougars’ record is now 5-1-1.

In the win over Hampshire, Jefferson got single goals from Hailey Dillow and Grace Lochner. Lorelei Bangit had two assists for the Cougars. Chloe de Moulin had one assist.

Payton Ferguson had four saves for Jefferson.

Zoe Rosen had the lone goal of the match for the Cougars against the Patriots, which was unassisted.

Leila Mallamas had 13 saves for Jefferson. Ferguson had two.

The Cougars have a road match at Hedgesville at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Jefferson won its home match with the Eagles, 10-0, on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Jefferson hosts Greenbrier East on Saturday, with a junior varsity start time of 10 a.m., followed by a varsity start at noon.

Washington is scheduled to host Hampshire at 5 p.m. (varsity start) on Saturday.
