CHARLES TOWN – Holding onto a commanding record, the 2018 regional tennis champs downed their cross county rival in Wednesday night action.

Now sitting at 10-3 on the season thanks to Mason Palmer, Cole Gore and Aaron Matlock, the Cougars slid past Washington for a 4-3 win.

No. 1 seed Palmer defeated Sammy Dyck 8-1, and Gore picked up an 8-4 win over Michael Barr in the No. 2 spot. Jackson Sigler would fall to Matlock 8-6 in the fourth seed matchup. Jacob Thaldorf picked up the solo singles win over Aaron Royster in the three-seed match, downing Royster 8-2.

Jefferson's only win in doubles came with an 8-5 victory by Palmer and Gore. Thaldorf-Sigler downed Royster-Matlock 8-5, and Killian Butera-Nathan Perry downed Moore-Johnson 8-5 in the three spot.

The undefeated girls team dominated Washington with a 6-1 win, with Amaia Yoldi, Anna Ours, Katlin Gregg and Jenna Weber picking up wins down the line in singles, while Yoldi-Ours (No. 1) and Sonny Smith-Maya Dixon-Gross (No. 3) picked up wins in doubles. Gregg-Weber (No. 2) would be the only doubles team to drop to Washington, as Holly Goben-Emily Schaffer prevailed.
