Gary Campbell Rutherford, 82, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at Loudoun INOVA in Leesburg, VA.

Born October 26, 1937 in Charles Town, WV, he was the son of the late Gilbert Dick Rutherford and Frances Naomi Campbell Rutherford.

He was a member of the Charles Town Baptist Church.

Gary was a US Air Force Veteran, where he was a marksman on the rifle team.

Gary was a retired manager with AT&T with over 20 years of service. He also was founder of Halltown Pool, where he was owner and operator with his wife, Cynthia, for over 30 years. He was an automobile and motorcycle enthusiast and was a fun loving and humorous guy.  

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Cynthia Hilliard Rutherford, at home; three sons, Dannon C. Rutherford and Melanie of Harpers Ferry, WV; Ryan L. Rutherford of Marcellus, MI and Rick Kennedy of Haskell, Texas; one daughter, Camin Pittman of Haskell, Texas, 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister, Donna Donovan of Pikesville, MD and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and step-son, Keith Pine, Sr.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Dr. Wyman Hall officiating. Interment was in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4-8 p.m.
