Gloria A. Mathis, 72, of Kearneysville died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility, in Kearneysville.
She was born Oct. 7, 1947 in Shenandoah Junction. She was the daughter of  Lloyd A. Berry, Sr. and Elizabeth Neva (Buracker) Berry.
She had been employed with Genesis Health Care in the Laundry Department. Also, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 1028, Charles Town and she was an avid bingo player at the Shepherdstown Fire Department.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Ronald Mathis, at home; daughters, Tamila F. O’Neill and husband Cricket, Rhonda A. Mathis and Donnie and Lisa M. Davis and husband Tim, all of Martinsburg; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeanne Mignot and husband Dean, of Clearfield, Pennsylvania, Doris Franklin, of Kearneysville; brother, Daniel Seal and wife Debbie, of Harpers Ferry; sister-in-law, Kathleen Berry; brother-in-law, Rosendo Plata; nieces and nephews and faithful canine companion, Sami.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Thomas and Margaret Plata; brothers, Robert Buracker, Sr., Lloyd Berry, Jr. and Richard Berry.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be private.
