Charles S. Hamilton, 87, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at his residence.

Born August 23, 1932 in Mt. Hope, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Hamilton and Elizabeth Lafferty Hamilton.

He was a member of CrossPoint Church of God and a Veteran of the US Army.

Charles retired from the Marriott Corp, Dulles Airport with 39 years of service.

Charles lived his life for the Lord and was always there for the people he loved, his wife, his sons and grandchildren.  He was known by everyone as the gentle giant. Charlie’s hobbies were gardening and resting in his recliner chair.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Laveania Mae Hamilton, at home; four sons, Michael Wade Hamilton and Brenda, of FL; Kevin Eugene Hamilton and Alicia of Kearneysville, WV; Charles “Chuck” W. Hamilton and Kim of Bakerton, WV and Karl O. Hamilton and Jeanie of Bakerton, WV; eight grandchildren, Katie Waters and David, Jason Emily, Tiffany, Tyler, Brad and Spencer Hamilton;  four great-grandchildren, Addyson, Jaxon, Dallas and Austin and one brother, Robert B. Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Wade Hamilton and three sisters and one brother.

Services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Mason Carter officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
