Barbara “Barb” Ann (Bittinger) Pusateri, age 74, of Charles Town, WV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Barb was born on March 30, 1947 in Colorado Springs, CO, daughter of Russell and Anna Benton.

Barb was a 1968 graduate of Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing. After graduation she worked at Hagerstown Hospital as an RN in the neonatal unit. In the mid 1970’s she started a business in historic Harpers Ferry, WV. This began her love for the town of Harpers Ferry. In the late 1980’s she went back to the health industry as a home health nurse and nurse case manager. Barb kept herself busy with her rental properties and served on multiple committees in the Harpers Ferry community. She loved spending time with her family and adored her cats.

Barb is survived by her only child, Christie Bittinger Swisher, husband Chris and her beloved grandchildren Nikolette, Anna and Greyson. She is also survived by her brother, Allan C. Benton and wife Laurette (Raleigh,NC), as well as her stepdaughter, Melissa Pusateri Davis (Jacksonville,FL) and nephews (Jonathan Benton, Andy Benton, Jeff Orosz, and Thomas Benton) and niece (Marcy Orosz Lawler).

The family will be receiving guests at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Thursday March 3, 2022 from 5-7 p.m.

The family would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to Hospice of the Panhandle and her amazing physician Dr. Cathy Funk.
