Margaret F. Smith, affectionately known as Marge, was born on July 18, 1928, to Donald J. and Edith M. Farley in Spanishburg, West Virginia.

 She passed away peacefully at home in Charles Town on November 10, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Nancy Louise Cook, Bobby Jackson Farley, and Marianne Candler, and son-in-law Don Giardina.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Archie B. Smith; her 3 daughters: Jenny Sue Caling and husband Denny, Peggy Whetzel and husband George, and Alice Smoot and husband Ronnie; grandchildren: Bethany Miller, Jenna McDonald, Kris Whetzel, Kaitlyn Wagoner, and Bret Caling; and 8 great grandchildren.

Marge was a business teacher for 25 years in Jefferson County Schools. She was also a most beloved “Bim Bim” to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Episcopal Church in Charles Town. Her family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the funeral from 12:00-2:00 p.m.  at the church. Masks are required. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430 or Zion Episcopal Church, 221 E. Washington St., Charles Town, WV 25414.

Arrangements are by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
