Howard Franklin Simons, 84, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019 at his residence.

Born March 9, 1935 in Millville, WV, he was the son of the late Floyd Simons and Bertha Mason Simons. 
He was of the Christian faith. 
Frank was an avid fast pitch softball pitcher for over 40 years. He loved the game and the people he played with and against. Frank also loved his race horses, and was an owner and trainer, following the races with a passion. He cherished his wife of 63 years, Betty Joanne, and adored his grandson, Joshua, never missing a chance to watch him play baseball. 
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty J. Hoak Simons, at home; one son, Mark Simons of Charles Town, WV; one grandson, Joshua Simons and wife, Stephanie, three great grandchildren, Mikayla, Rylee and Tye Simons, one nephew, Lee Simons of Colorado Springs and sister-in-law, Mary Devona “Bunk” Snyder.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Simons and two brothers, Floyd Boyd Simons and Robert “Bobby” Simons. 
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Alvin Russell officiating.
Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.  
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
