Robert B. Jones Jr. passed away at his home in Ranson, West Virginia on September 26, 2019. He was 87 years old.

“Bob” is survived by his brother Charles, his two daughters, Kathryn and Kimberly, his 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

“Bob” was born in Bristol, Tenn. in November on Friday the 13th in 1931.

He was very proud of his service to his country. He signed on with the Air Force and served in Korea during the Korean War for 2 ½ yrs.

On his way home, he met and fell in love with a little Florida girl, Betty Louise, married her and brought her home to Bristol. There, they started a family.

“Bob” then moved the family to Bethesda, MD where he worked and retired from the Defense Mapping Agency. After retirement, he went to work for the Montgomery County Public Schools as a bus driver, where he retired in good standing with parents and kids alike. 

He and Betty moved to West Virginia in 2000, where Betty preceded him to Heaven in 2002.

There was a graveside service at Culpeper National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Withem officiated.

Afterwards, family and friends gathered at the Mountain View Inn Restaurant in Charles Town, West Virginia where they “sat up and took nourishment” in his honor.
