Larry Lee Lind 81, of Charles Town, WV passed away on July 3, 2020.  He was born on April 17, 1939 in Hammond, Indiana to Clarence Theodore Lind and Helen Carlson Lind.  Larry was preceded in death by his brothers Theodore ‘Teddy’, Don and Jack.  Larry is survived by his brothers John and Wayne (Cindi) Lind and his children Thomas, Linda, Debbie, Greg, Todd and Lance (Christal) Lind and two granddaughters Hannah and Harper and his long-time companion and friend Janice Butler.  Although he spent his childhood years in Cedar Lake, Indiana Larry spent his teen and early adult years in Sarasota, Florida where he played basketball for the Sarasota High School Sailors and created many life-long friends.  Larry moved to Lovettsville, VA in 1970 and then lived in the Charles Town, WV area for the remainder of his life. He had two Master’s Degrees and worked for over 10 years with the federal government as a cartographer. He chose a second career and taught for over 20 years in Maryland and West Virginia most of which was spent in Jefferson County where he was committed to his students with learning disabilities and behavioral disorders.  Of all the things that could be said of our father he was a kid at heart and always up for an adventure or treasure hunt!  He was a kind and generous man and will be missed. A memorial service will be held at 3pm, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home, 114 N. Mildred St., Ranson, WV 25438, with Dr. Henry Christie officiating.
