John W.  Stanton Sr.

John W. Stanton Sr., 78, passed away May 31, 2019. He was born November 3, 1940 in Laurinburg, NC the son of the late Robert and Willie Mae Owen.

John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, then became an auto body technician. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and watching Nascar.

John is survived by two sisters, Sally Ann Wright of Laurinburg, NC and Mary Helen Rivers of Laurinburg, NC;  children Judy and husband David Brown of Martinsburg, son Billy and wife Angela of Hagerstown, MD and son J.R. and wife Shayna of Hagerstown, MD. Grandchildren, Julianne (husband Adam), Jordyn, Jennifer, Ashley, Hunter, Jenna, Jacquelyn, Trey, Taylor, Katelyn and Justin. Great grandchildren, Jaydin, Jackobey, Jocelyn and Carmella, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He is also survived by his special dog, Bella.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jacqueline Perrell Stanton, and one daughter, Jacqueline Ann Brown.

Graveside service will be held on Wed June 5th at 11 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Rockville, MD. With Reverend David Brown officiating.  Family received friends Tuesday June 4th 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer and Norton 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425. In lieu of flowers donations can be send to Berkeley County Humane Society 554 Charles Town Road Martinsburg, WV 25405.
