G. Thomas Cummings, 77, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his residence.

Born February 17, 1943 in Harpers Ferry, WV, he was the son of the late George Mahoney Cummings and Nellie Mitchell Cummings.

He was a member of Cross Point Church of God.

Thomas was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School, class of 1961. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and loved to garden. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League and a member of the Old Reel Collector’s Association. (ORCA)

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Martha ‘Pat” Cummings, at home; three daughters, Kathy Berst and husband, Jonathan of Ranson, WV; Patty Schmuff and husband, George of Perry Hall, MD and Missy Wagoner of Harrisonburg, VA; one son, James Richard of FL; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, unofficial adopted son, Mason Carter and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Dale Richard, Jr., two sisters, Helen “Lou” Ferguson and Nancy Mock and one brother, Frank Cummings.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Mason Carter officiating. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
