Gail Karen Smallwood, 78, of Kearneysville, WV passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her family, at home.

Born October 1, 1942 in Ranson, WV, she was the daughter of the late Louis Daniel Petrucci and Kathryn Darr Petrucci.

She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV.

Gail was a graduate of Harpers Ferry High School, Class of 1960. She was a stenographer at the Pentagon and the Fairfax Police Department and later became an LPN. Gail was an artist as a quilter and was a wonderful homemaker, always the wife and mother to make her family complete and secure.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Lloyd Samuel Smallwood, at home; two daughters, Tina Smallwood and Tonya Sivinski and husband, Jim; one son, Nick Smallwood and wife, Joanne; seven grandchildren, Meredith, Elizabeth, Jamie, Stacy, Daniel, Shane, Alec and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dale “Binky” Petrucci and two loving aunts, Marguerite and Rose Petrucci.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Cross Winds Drive, Charles Town, WV. Interment will follow in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
