Janet Louise Cave, 85, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Virginia.

Mrs. Cave was born January 5, 1936 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William Darl Boyer and Effie Myrtle Shirey Shaffer.

She worked for the Department of Interior with the United States Government as a budget analyst.

Surviving are two sons, William Himes (Darlene) of Christiansburg, VA and Donald Himes (Gretchen) of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren, Emily, Shane, Alicia and Shawn Himes and Brooke Edinger; three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Bennett Stall and Merryn Himes; and a sister, Nancy Fox of Brookville, PA.

Her husband, Granville “Pete” Miller Cave, grandson, Brad Fenstermaker, brother, Bob Boyer and half-brother, James Shaffer all preceded her in death.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Jefferson County, PO Box 565, Charles Town, WV 25414.

Arrangements are being handled by Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA.
