Carl B. Nutter, 70, of Ranson, WV passed away at home Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Born June 18, 1950 in Spencer, WV, he was the son of the late Clyde B. and Hattie Asbury Nutter.

He was a veteran of the US Army, serving two tours in Vietnam, receiving a Purple Heart.

Carl retired after 32 years of service for the US Government, was of the Episcopal faith  and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his daughter, Carla Joy Nutter Champlain of Ranson; one step-daughter, Debora Boyd and husband, Mike of Ranson; six grandchildren,  nine great-grandchildren two sisters, Viola Downs of Clover, WV, Virginia Lyons of Allen, Texas, one brother, Clyde Nutter of Gay, WV, one half brother, John Asbury of Parkersburg, WV and  long time friend, JB Lemon of Ranson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Joy Nutter, second wife, Carroll Jean Nutter, step-daughter, Angela Groft and one brother, Charles B. Nutter.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with military honors by the US Army Honor Guard and the Harpers Ferry/Bolivar District Veterans.
