Ralph Valentine Mills, Sr, 88, of Kearneysville, WV passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Reston Hospital.

Born November 7, 1931 in Samples Manor, MD, he was the son of James Howard Mills and Altie Ellsworth Downs Mills.

He was of the Christian faith.

He was a lifetime member of Brunswick Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #1136 and a lifetime member of Charles Town Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #948.

Ralph enjoyed making hay, planting his garden, going to yard sales, sitting on the porch watching the squirrels and birds and watching football and baseball. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Boston Red Socks fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Peggy, at home; eight children, David Mills and wife, Cindy, Debra Heflin, Diana Kuykendall and husband, Mike, Ralph Mills, Jr., Ricky Barron and fiance’, Liz Grim, Nika Barron, Marty Barron and  Tammy Bowling and husband Coby, Jr., 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one sister, Fay E. Virts-Fleming, numerous nieces and nephews and family members he loved dearly and his faithful feline companion, Snowball and K-9 companion friend, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Darla Mills, granddaughter, Misty Crawford, great granddaughter, Taylor Savil, three sisters, Rachel Gibbs, Dorothy Fravel and Diana Mills and three brothers, Paul Mills, Howard J. Mills and Ortence Mills.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV. Interment will follow in Samples Manor Cemetery.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
