Mary Esther Jackson, 90, of Leetown died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her residence.

Born Nov. 4, 1928 in Bardane, Jefferson County. She was the daughter of Robert Blackford and Carrie Lee (Kisling) Blackford.

Mrs. Jackson was a loving wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.

She was a former member of Leetown Baptist Church, attended Charles Town Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher and Pianist at Grace Baptist Church.

Mrs. Jackson’s hobbies were quilting, crocheting, paint by numbers, jigsaw puzzles, fishing, gardening and piano playing.

She is survived by her daughters; Judy Reid, of Leetown, Freda Jackson, of Inwood, Linda DeHaven, of Leetown, son, Larry L. Jackson, of Kearneysville; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and brother, Henry Blackford and wife Sandra, of Martinsburg.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Jackson who died Jan. 28, 1981; grandson, Andrew Wade Jackson and sister, Bessie Payne.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town with Dr. Brian Hotaling officiating.

Interment was in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.

Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
