Martha Beeg White, age 95, passed peacefully into heaven on September 23, 2021.  Martha was the oldest of seven children born to Adolph and Marguerite Beeg. She survived all of her family and was predeceased by her husband, Jake White, and great-grandson, Logan Weller.      

Martha lived in Seabrook, MD until she married and moved to Burlington, WV.  To further her husband’s coal business, they moved to Lincoln, Virginia. She assisted with the business and worked at both the Lincoln High School and Lincoln Elementary School as a cook.   The White family eventually moved to Purcellville until the children were grown.  They relocated to Charles Town, WV where she has lived for 40 years. Martha worked as a cook at the Loudoun Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1985.  

Martha is survived by sons, Howard White of Berryville, VA and David White of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Susan Milbourne (Jerry) of Bolivar, WV and Sarah Brackett (Hugh) of Manassas, VA; nine grandchildren, Michael White, Steven White, Jenny Butts, Lorinda Humen, Jason White, Karen Weller, Heather Brackett-Rogers, Megan Brackett and Ethan Brackett; thirteen great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.    

Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on September 27, 2021 at the Melvin Strider Funeral Home. The funeral service followed.  Interment was in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town.  

The family request donations may be made to the Jefferson County Council on Aging, 103 W. 5th Ave., Ranson, WV 25438 or to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV  25430 in her memory for the loving care and services they have provided to her.
