Michael J.  Dougherty

Michael J. Dougherty, 64, of Kearneysville died Thursday, May 30, 2019 at his residence.

He was born July 22, 1954 in Washington, D.C. He was the son of James R. Dougherty and Shirley A. (Winterberg) Dougherty.

Mr. Dougherty retired from the Halltown Paper Board as a Boiler Operator.

He was of the Catholic Faith.

He graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1974.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 948, Charles Town.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betsy (Conrad) Dougherty; son, George Dougherty, of Petal, Mississippi, daughter, Christine Dougherty Clayton, of Petal, Mississippi, daughter, Tabetha Dougherty, of Kearneysville and son, Joshua Dougherty and wife Samia, of San Francisco, California; nine grandchildren, Three great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy Dougherty, of Martinsburg and Terry Harrison and husband Billy, of Harpers Ferry; brothers, Pat Dougherty and wife Tracy and Dennis Dougherty and wife Jan, all of Harpers Ferry; brother-in-law, Steve Conrad and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Dougherty.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town with Pastor Bucky Chapman officiating.

Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
