Edward J. Grodzicki, 83, of Kearneysville passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020 at the VA Medical Center, Martinsburg.

He was born Aug. 10, 1937 in Nanicoke, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Edward Grodzicki and Helen (Dudzikowski) Grodzicki.

Edward had been a Munitions Maintenance Specialist with the U.S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of faithful and dedicated service. After retiring from the Air Force, Edward spent 15 years as a correctional officer for the Montgomery County Department of Corrections.

Edward was a proud and decorated Vietnam veteran. He often spoke about his tours in Vietnam and the accomplishments he received, while serving our country.

He was a member of the St. James The Greater Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Johanna Alida (Gould) Grodzicki; daughter, Marianna G. Hollander and husband Todd, of Ocala, Florida; grandchildren, Nathaniel V.R. Grodzicki, Elijah L.W. Grodzicki, Curtis L. Hollander and Kyle M. Hollander and wife Andrea. Edward is also survived by his friend and former daughter-in-law, Carla Wallace.

Edward was a car enthusiast. He took pride in maintaining an immaculate vehicle. To say his car never had a speck of dirt on it would be an understatement.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Edward Grodzicki.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in the St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Harpers Ferry.

Arrangements are by the Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town.
