Kendra Metz

Kendra Marie Metz, 65, of Shippensburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.  

She was born March 29, 1954, in Morgantown, WV and adopted by the late Kenneth and Marie Metz of Charles Town, WV. Kendra graduated from Charles Town High School in 1972, received a BS in Political Science and a BA in History from Shepherd College in 1995, and began a master’s in Women’s Studies at West Virginia University in 1996.

Kendra is survived by two children:  Rebecca Reynolds (Clark) Herman, of Chambersburg, PA; and Elizabeth Reynolds (Tim) Doyle of Frederick, MD, and one sister: Frances Ann (Chris) Kief, of Charles Town, WV.  She is also survived by five grandchildren: Ashley Herman (Kyle) Varner; Alissa Herman; Kaleb Herman; Cillian Doyle; and Orry Herman, one great-grandchild: Elyse Varner, and a nephew and niece.

Kendra enjoyed Civil War re-enacting, watching football, her cats, and time with family and friends.

Kendra has selflessly donated her body to medical research. A memorial will be planned following her cremation.
