In September, WVU Medicine plans to open a new medical office building in Shepherdstown.

SHEPHERDSTOWN. – WVU Medicine East officials recently announced that the new medical office building in Shepherdstown is expected to open in mid-September.

The 10,700 square foot building, located on Route 45 west at 60 Maclaine Way, will offer primary and specialty care services. Berkeley Medical Center will operate x-ray and laboratory services as a convenience for patients in

Shepherdstown.

According to Aaron Henry, vice president of ambulatory operations, the primary care office will be staffed by two family medicine physicians and a pediatrician.  He added that a final decision has not been made on which WVU Medicine specialists will offer clinics in Shepherdstown.

“We are excited to provide high quality healthcare services in the Shepherdstown area,” Henry said. “We have plans to add more primary care providers as the practice grows and will offer a number of our specialty services such as behavioral health and cardiology on a rotating basis.”

The one-story medical building will also have 2,300 square feet of shelled space that will be used in the future by the WVU School of Medicine Eastern Campus to establish a teaching kitchen.
