RANSON – Compelled by a judge’s decision to take its third vote on the matter, the Ranson City Council voted 5-1 on Tuesday evening to rezone land to an industrial use where the Rockwool factory is now being constructed.

The council took the action to re-impose the industrial zoning after three hours of citizen testimony over two nights and after receiving an overwhelming number of written comments, in both cases mostly against the rezoning.
