The Independent Fire Company will host its 20th annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9:58 a.m. The Ceremony will take place at the fire station at 200 W. 2nd Ave. in Ranson. It will last about 30 minutes.
The commemoration will occur between the times the World Trade Center Towers collapsed. The victims at the Pentagon, Shanksville, Pa. In the War on Terror and those affected by Ground Zero will be honored.
Assisting the members of the Washington High School Patriot Chamber Choir and the Jefferson High School Cougar Air Force Junior ROTC. Bagpipe music will be presented by Joe Kent.
The public is encourage to attend and remember the events. Available police, fire, EMS and military personnel are requested to attend in uniform, if possible.
Following the ceremony, the American Legion, Jackson-Perks Post 71 Family invites all to join a Motorcade of Motorcycles Honoring ALL Local Fire/Rescue & Police Departments in Jefferson County. Not a “Biker” you are Invited to Cheer on our Participants as the motorcade passes through your area or along the final part of the ride as they leave from Charles Town Police Dept on George St. and continue along Congress St. to the American Legion Post 71.
