The Jefferson County Museum is asserting title to abandoned loaned property unless a person(s) claims and establishes ownership of it. The property, loaned in January 1972 by the late Ernestine Harrison Johnson (Mrs. Henry L. Johnson) of Elkins, WV, consists of a vintage Valentine greeting card, a velvet butterfly-shaped pen wiper, three brass pen nibs, and a walnut lap desk. Anyone who claims ownership of or other legal interest in these items must contact Jane Rissler, Director, Jefferson County Museum, 200 East Washington Street, Charles Town, WV 25414, at 304-725-8628 or director@jeffcomuseumwv.org, by August 30, 2019, to provide proof of ownership or legal interest in the property and make arrangements to collect the items. Failure to do so constitutes waiving any claim to the property. If not claimed by the date above, the Jefferson County Museum will terminate the loan and take title to the property.
