Petition for consent and approval to acquire the waterworks system assets of Fox Glen Utilities, Inc.

NOTICE OF HEARING

On April 4, 2019, Jefferson Utilities, Inc. (Jefferson) filed a petition seeking the Commission’s consent and approval to acquire the assets of Fox Glen Utilities, Inc. (Fox Glen). The petition provides that Jefferson will acquire Fox Glen’s utility assets for a purchase price of $100,000. Jefferson requested the Commission approve the acquisition and Jefferson’s operation of Fox Glen’s utility assets and, among other things, approve Jefferson’s request to charge the customers of Fox Glen its current rates and charges after close of the acquisition.

The matter is set for hearing on August 16, 2019, at 9:30 a.m., in the Jefferson County Courthouse, County Commission Meeting Room, 100 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, WV.

Individuals may appear at the hearing and be heard regarding the proposed transfer of the utility assets to Jefferson. Written comments may also be filed by mailing it to the Executive Secretary, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323 on or before August 16, 2019.

2) The Purchaser shall be responsible for the payment of the transfer taxes imposed by the West Virginia Code § 11-22-1.

3) The Beneficiary and/or the Servicer of the Deed of Trust and Note reserve the right to submit a bid for the property at sale.

4) The Trustee reserves the right to continue sale of the subject property from time to time by written or oral proclamation, which continuance shall be in the sole discretion of the Trustee.

Fireworks Display 

Bidding Opportunity

The Jefferson County Parks & Recreation Commission are accepting sealed proposals for a Fireworks Display for our Independence Day Celebration to be held at dark on June 27, 2020 with a rain date of June 28, 2020.   The RFP is available on the website at www.jcprc.org or a copy may also be picked up at the Jefferson County Community Center, 235 Sam Michael’s Lane, Shenandoah Junction, WV 25442. Questions may be directed to Jennifer Myers,jmyers@jcprc.org.

All proposals must be received no later than 9:00 a.m., Monday, September 9th.   At that time, the sealed proposals will be opened and read aloud.

The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids when in their reasoned judgment the general public shall be better served thereby.

NOTICE OF TOWED OR ABANDONED VEHICLES

In 2001 the Legislature reenacted Chapter 17, Section 8, Article 24, of the West Virginia Code, to allow due process for a West Virginia motor vehicle dealer, a motor vehicle repair facility or a person or entity hired by a West Virginia enforcement agency to obtain title and sell at private sale or public auction any motor vehicle towed and abandoned on their property, and having a retail Bluebook value of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500.00) or less.

McKinney’s, 400 N. George St., Charles Town, WV 25414, is by law, required to publish as a Class 1 legal advertisement, the following vehicles in their possession. The notice shall be published within fifteen (15) days after possession of vehicle. The owner has ten (10) days to respond from date of publication.
